Starrbooty is a rollicking good time the whole "family" can enjoy together! As Starrbooty aka Cupcake, RuPaul is unforgettable and sets the screen on fire! Seriously, there is something to offend everybody in this one... and that's the whole point. Never is any of this to be taken seriously, just sit back and enjoy the wild and often shocking ride. If the early films of John Waters appeal to you, you will love this, as my friends and I did. Upon repeated viewings, you will find yourself speaking the more memorable dialogue along with the characters. There's a great supporting cast, some fab songs, and a fast pace that makes the film fly by at a breakneck speed. In the end, of course, it is RuPaul who truly shines and steals the show. Why she didn't get an Oscar for this is one of the biggest oversights in modern cinema.
Ru fans, and fans of exploitation/sleaze cinema...check it out.
